Another week gone. I have not lost any weight, but I have not gained either. This morning, I am the exact same...to the ounce that I was last week.
I don't have the new treadmill yet. Truth be told, I'm not so sure that I'm going to get it. I used to have a treadmill that I paid a great deal of money for and it sat in the basement most of the time. I used it occasionally, and then one day, we brought it up from the basement. Placed it in the living room and we both used it for a while. We joined a gym, then after 4 months stopped going to the gym and never got on the treadmill again. Looking back, it was a waist of money and I'm wondering if I will use it as much as I want at this time and regret the purchase. Walking and running outside is free, no charge and it would give me an opportunity to get out of the house and away from hubby. The only thing about walking outside here in Wisconsin is the snow and ice in the winter, which we are in right now. I have 87ish days until the 5k and I haven't started one foot of walking towards my goal. I've just been waiting for the new treadmill and should not have been. I should have been walking outside but then again, it was -6 degrees for a few days.
It's all excuses....I need to stop making excuses and just DO IT! Damn it, what is wrong with me?

Jan 18, 2012
I cannot begin to explain everything that has brought me to this point in my life. I'm sure as time goes by you'll begin to understand and know why.
Before the end of 2011, I decided that one of my New Years Resolutions was going to be to get into shape once and for all. December 29th was the last time that I took the elevator at work. I have not had McDonald's since September 2008, a feat which I am very proud of in itself. However, knowing that, you would think that I would have lost a considerable amount of weight since I used to sneak cheeseburgers on my way home before dinner. This has not been the case. Another of my 2012 New Years Resolution is to not go to a fast food restaurant at all. (Subway excluded) It's not like I have been going to fast food restaurants that often, but absolutely no more. I am eating healthier although I haven't been exercising as much as I should be. Hubby and I took a walk last week with the dogs.
This morning I woke up, didn't have to be to work until noon, so I watched last nights episode of Biggest Loser. I had a breakdown when Lauren got voted to go home. I was shocked. In her at home interview, she said that she started running and hasn't stopped. Her goal was to run a 1/2 marathon in under 3 hours....she did it in 2 hours and 51 minutes. I started sobbing. Of course, I was happy for her, but it was more about my desires and goals and the lack of accomplishment that I have had. As I was crying, I told my husband that I have done 3 5k's but I have never run one as I wanted. The Oshkosh 5k is April 22nd and is coming up fast. I want to run it this year...RUN IT! I asked hubby if we could purchase a treadmill and he said we could. We are going shopping for one this afternoon. I'm so excited about that.
I posted on Facebook that I'm going to RUN the 5k this year, so hopefully that will keep me in check.
